The International Convention Centre of Barcelona (CCIB) has hosted, or is due to host, the congresses and conventions of a number of relevant international exponents of the technology, computer and telecommunications industries.
From 4-7 October, SYMANTEC held its second "Vision 2010" conference at the CCIB for 1,600 clients and partners from Europe, the Middle East and Africa. After this important event, CCIB's agenda included a number of other outstanding technology events, such as the one organized by Microsoft, one of the world's information technology giants. More than 1,500 delegates attended the event held from 18-20 October.
In November, the centre has hosted, or is due to host, three other important European conferences: the EMEA Business Partner de Avaya from 8-10 November; the SAP HR FIN GRC 2010 EUROPE from 9.12 November; and the HP Software Universe 2010, scheduled to be held from 30 November-2 December. During this last event, in the region of 2,500 delegates will meet to get to know and discuss the latest in software and solutions.
"Its cutting-edge technology, specialized technical staff and design, with natural light and sea views, are the main reasons why the multinationals in these industries choose CCIB," said Marc Rodriguez, CEO of CCIB.
"In addition," he said, "on having a wide range of services and equipment, the centre can provide each event with rapid, bespoke solutions based on its characteristics and objectives."
CCIB is one of the most technologically advances congress centres in the world. Along these lines, its has a wireless telecommunications system and 100 Mb direct Internet access, with symmetric bandwidth, via diversified Internet and Wi-Fi connections throughout the complex, capable of simultaneously providing up to 2,000 users with voice and data transmission services.
This technology allows the centre to cater to the most creative and complex communication requirements of the organizers of these events, who due to the high level of specialization of the delegates and the characteristics of the industry need cutting-edge facilities. Another of the advantages of CCIB is its location. Located in Diagonal Mar, Barcelona's new maritime façade, there are over 20 three-, four- and five-star hotels in the vicinity, with over 4,800 bed spaces, as well as an excellent public transport system, ensuring easy access from other parts of the city.
