The auditorium of the Forum Building has proved to be an ideal venue for multitudinous events of this kind, thanks to its cutting-edge technology, safety and seating capacity.
CCIB will once again be hosting an important event in 2012, this time related to the film industry: the Official Convention of the International Union of Cinemas, CineEurope, with the attendance of the world’s leading film studios and production companies.
The auditorium of the International Convention Centre of Barcelona (CCIB) emulated for a day Hollywood’s Nokia Theatre by hosting the première of the 4th installment of the popular film series on 17 November, only three days after its screening in Los Angeles and the day before the film’s world première.

The preview, which was attended by around 2,000 guests, including celebrities and Spanish TV personalities, attracted a large crowd of fans, eager to catch a glimpse of Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, the film’s two young male stars – accompanied on this occasion by Billa Condon, the Oscar-winning director of the film, and Wyck Godfrey, its producer – outside the Forum Building, the emblematic blue triangle housing CCIB’s auditorium.

We are proud to have contributed to hosting this première in Spain, which has undoubtedly served as an excellent dress rehearsal for the Official Convention of the International Union of Cinemas, CineEurope, which we will be hosting for the first time in June 2012, and during which the world’s leading film studios and production companies will be presenting their new films and projects."
In the words of the organizers of the event, the auditorium of the Forum Building, designed by the Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, proved to be a perfect venue for this eagerly-awaited première, because of its unbeatable location for hosting multitudinous events, in addition to its seating capacity (3,140), impressive design and cutting-edge technology. Located in the spacious Leonardo Da Vinci Square, set in the extensive Forum Park, the Forum Building is easy to reach by public transport (buses, underground, tram and several taxi ranks) and by car using the city’s main streets, with plenty of parking space in the vicinity. The ease with which pedestrian traffic and that of authorized vehicles can be controlled in this 25,000sqm outdoor area is essential on occasions such as this, when seven official cars were given access to the red carpet, and several ambulances were on standby to deal with emergencies.

After the stars had addressed the audience from the stage, the première’s guests enjoyed the last sequel of the penultimate installment of the popular film series on a giant screen (21x9m), specially installed for the occasion.
