From next June, the banquet hall of the International Convention Centre of Barcelona (CCIB) will be included in "Espiral Spaces", a portal specializing in unique venues.

“The opinion of meetings and event professionals, as well as national and International delegates, has convinced us of the uniqueness of our banquet hall in Barcelona, because of its impressive design, spaciousness and terraces affording views of the Mediterranean,” says Carolina Garcia, CCIB’s business manager. “In addition, since opening five years ago, we have been able confirm that the hall is perfect not only for meals, as was first believed, but also for product presentations, fashion shows, press conferences and all types of galas… it’s really a multi-disciplinary venue, with its own agenda within the convention centre.”

Located on the second floor of CCIB, the banquet hall is a column-free venue, with a length of 75m and a surface area of 1,655sqm, with large windows down its full length – allowing for plenty of natural light – giving onto a terrace overlooking the Mediterranean on the new seafront of the city’s 22@ district.

As a banquet hall, the venue seats up to 1,200 guests and can accommodate 1,300 in cocktail party format. In addition, it has a spacious adjacent kitchen, ensuring a quality in-house catering service, managed by the centre’s specialized staff. In addition to the hall’s size – without columns – natural light and sea views, the true uniqueness of this venue lies in its design featuring a wooden floor and 9m high ceiling built in the shape of the inverted keel of a boat, so as to blend in with the outdoor seascape. In line with the general characteristics of the convention centre, the venue has the latest in technology and telecommunications equipment allowing it to host any type of event.

According to Isabel Espinar, a unique venue manager, with over 15 years of experience in the industry, and director of Espiral Spaces, “venues like the banquet hall contribute to the international promotion of the city, and are special due to their versatility, facilities, location, catering services, staff, etc., all basic requirements conditioning and marking the character and style of the events that they host.”
