From 16-22 February 2009, the one-star restaurant El Lago (Marbella) will be holding a new edition of Signature Cuisine 5, which will be showcasing Andalusian nouvelle cuisine, alongside the latest trends in Valencian and Catalan cooking. For the very first time, the organizers of this annual culinary event have invited one of Northern Italy’s most prestigious chefs.
As a true reflection of the current economic crisis, in this edition of Signature Cuisine 5 the organizers have set out to prove that it is possible to prepare quality dishes at a reasonable price. All the participants in the event have made a great effort to select the most affordable ingredients, putting a greater accent on preparation.
The eight chefs participating in the event are as follows: Nicola Batavia (‘I Birichin, Torino), Marti Rosas (Ca la Maria, Girona), Juan Escribano (Montana, Málaga), Julio Fernandez Quintero (Abantal, Sevilla), Jorge de Andres y Jorge Breton (Vertical, Valencia), Diego del Rio (El Lago, Marbella), and Alejandro Ruiz (Alejandro, Almeria).
