The event will bring together over 180 exhibiting companies and 260 experts over three days
The Barcelona International Convention Centre (CCIB) is resuming its congress and trade fair activities this Tuesday with the third edition of Rebuild, the first face-to-face event after the state of alarm. From 29 September to 1 October, professionals from the sector will meet to mark the future of building.
The event will contribute to reactivating business tourism in Barcelona and will be surrounded by a strict prevention protocol with all the health and safety measures, as indicated by the CCIB in a press release.
Rebuild, an event that brings together a trade fair and a congress, will bring together over 180 exhibiting companies and 260 experts for three days at the National Congress of Advanced Architecture and Construction 4.0, an annual forum for applied innovation in the building sector that will showcase the latest advances developed in areas such as industrialisation, digitalisation and the sustainability of new materials.
The event is held every year alternating between Barcelona and Madrid and will be marked by the health prevention protocol drawn up by the event's organisers and the CCIB (following the protocols of the Generalitat) to create a safe business environment for those attending.
The use of masks, hand cleaning and distance maintenance will be compulsory. In addition, among the measures highlighted, accesses and maximum capacity will be controlled, large rooms will be used, temperature controls will be carried out and the spaces will be constantly disinfected.
Importance of the congress activity for Barcelona
The general director of the CCIB, Marc Rodríguez, highlighted the importance of resuming the face-to-face events and recalled that "congress and trade fair activity is key to the economic development of the city, contributing to the creation and development of businesses and energising our environment". In the current context, Rodríguez has assured that security is the "top priority".
In addition, the general manager of the CCIB added that "our facility, which covers more than 100,000 square metres, allows us to adapt to all regulations and to always be in a position to comply with all the measures required at any given time" so that "at no time is there any risk to people's safety". He gave as an example the experience of GL events, manager of the CCIB, which has already organised a dozen fairs and shows in France with all the prevention measures.
The return to face-to-face activity comes after months of work to maintain the maximum number of events in 2020 and, mainly in 2021, where part of the congresses and conventions have been postponed.
