The AVE line between Madrid and Granada has accumulated three delays of up to thirty minutes in its first five days of service, on which a total of forty trains have circulated. On Saturday 29th, the first train of the morning Madrid-Granada should have entered via the tracks at Andaluces station at 10.54 a.m. and did not do so until 11.27 a.m., thus accumulating a 33-minute delay. The reason, according to Renfe, was a technical incident.

On the 26th, the first Madrid-Granada route arrived 13 minutes late. However, as Renfe is committed to punctuality for these 15-minute trains, this delay is not considered a compensable incident. The 22-minute delay that took place the following day, 27 June, is. Passengers more than a quarter of an hour have the right to recover 50% of the ticket and after 30 minutes the refund is 100% of the amount, provided that the fares are not promotional.

On Friday 28 June, another train to Granada registered a delay of 27 minutes, according to Renfe, in this case the reason is that it left the base in Madrid with a delay. Passengers who have been affected by the delays have a period of up to three months to make claims. As of Monday, 10,200 passengers had travelled on the Granada AVE, 7,100 of them to Madrid and the rest to Barcelona.
