In short, it is a unique path crossing the whole province. Yes… the whole province! It is a pioneering initiative in Andalusia highlighting the province’s rich natural diversity.
It is an initiative that encompasses the environment, tourism, sports and economic development from a sustainable perspective.
Technical information
The Great Malaga Path includes:
- Over 660 km.
- 35 stages.
- 9 districts.
- 51 municipalities.
It is also an itinerary of the Great Path (GR-249) at three levels:
- Local: it unites existing paths in Malaga.
- National: it connects with the Moorish Way of St James.
- International: it forms part of the national and European network of paths (included in the GR-92 E-12 skirting the Mediterranean and ending in Greece).
