Weew, a cloud platform designed for event, congress and tradeshow planners to facilitate their promotion, management and monitoring, supplied the official app for the 1st UNWTO World Conference on Smart Destinations, held in Murcia from 15-17 February 2017.
Generated by the cloud platform Weew and developed by the Murcia-based company Visualtis, the organizers choose the app due to its numerous advantages and functionalities and to the fact that it is totally customizable.
In a simple fashion, the organizers were able to generate, via Weew, a bespoke app with the event’s colour scheme and logo, without the need for programming, supplying full information on the event’s scientific and professional content, including the agenda, programme, keynote speakers, news, and delegates. It was then made available on IOS and Android app download sites.
The official app’s value added and distinguishing feature was the possibility of interacting with the rest of the delegates via a geolocalized chat to which only those people in the venue had access, which facilitated an aspect as important as networking and a greater number of face-to-face encounters with people with similar interests.
