The locality of Villarreal de San Carlos (Caceres), set in Monfrague National Park, will be hosting the 3rd edition of the International Birdwatching Show from 29 February-2 March 2008.

The 3rd International Birdwatching Show (FIO) is scheduled to be held in Villarreal de San Carlos (Caceres), set in the Monfrague National Park, from 29 February-2 March 2008. One of the best conserved Mediterranean forests in Europe, the park has been declared a Biosphere Reserve by the UNESCO.

Organised by The Extremadura Trade Show Institution (FEVAL) and sponsored by the regional government, the FIO will include different promotional, leisure and dissemination activities geared both to visitors and to trade professionals and scientific speakers. These parallel activities feature a series of technical workshops and communication seminars, forming the backbone of the event, which are essential for consolidating the FIO as a true birdwatching forum. With the aim of structuring the event, the seminars and workshops will revolve around three main topics: birdwatching tourism projects and experiences; species conservation; and the promotion of birdwatching destinations.
