Viladecans The Style Outlets is the only point in this municipality to have received this distinction.
Viladecans The Style Outlets, the leading outlet centre in the metropolitan area of Barcelona, managed by the Spanish company NEINVER, has been awarded with the only Tourist Information Point accreditation in Viladecans in 2017 by the Baix Llobregat Consortium. This programme was launched last September and, during the process, Viladecans The Style Outlets has participated in a training programme to offer visitors the best attention possible and comprehensive information on the area’s tourist offerings.
Joan Mas, manager of Viladecans The Style Outlets, stresses that this accreditation ‘strengthens the centre’s commitment to promoting tourism in the Baix Llobregat, as well as generating synergies with the local agents and administrations of other places of interest in Catalonia in order to contribute to promote tourism in the region.’ In this regard, the outlet centre is already collaborating with the Baix Llobregat Convention Bureau and other local actors, Viladecans, and Barcelona Provincial Council, among other, and has signed agreements with cruise lines (Royal Caribbean and Intercruises), more than 100 hotel in Barcelona and the surrounding area, national international tour operators, and travel agencies through its association ACAVE.
Viladecans The Style Outlets has fully deserved the distinction as Tourist Information Point, since it provides visitors with detailed information about the area’s and Barcelona’s attractions, including maps, guides, videos and tickets promoting the region’s culture, cuisine and landscapes.
With these accreditations, Barcelona Provincial Council and the tourism consortiums aim to create a network with the largest number of information points in the metropolitan area of Barcelona, in order to meet visitors’ information requirements. Thus, the objective of the programme is to extend the network of tourism offices by opening information points in places that come into direct contact with tourists and, to a certain extent, to remedy shortcomings such as the lack of official tourism offices and their limited opening hours.
