Coming nearly a year after the creation of the Vigo Convention Bureau, the city has joined the Spain Convention Bureau, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting its Spanish member destinations.

When it was created a year ago with the aim of improving and developing the city’s MICE products and services, as well as elaborating a congress guide, one of the Vigo Convention Bureau’s chief goals was to join the Spain Convention Bureau, thus forming a part of the international MICE circuit and benefiting from the organization’s promotional actions keyed to drumming up new meeting and event business.

Vigo has experience in hosting international events. In addition to having three airports under one hour away by car – a determining factor when choosing host cities for world-class events – with the opening of several new hotels in a couple of months’ time the city will have 4,000 bed spaces distributed in three-, four- and five-star properties.
