The Andalusian businessman will occupy the presidency of the Spanish Federation of PCOs for a four-year mandate.
Vicente Serrano Gutierrez was appointed to the post of president at the General Assembly of the Spanish Federation of PCOs, with over 80% of the votes. After the elections, the new president of the federation stated that "we’re currently in a complicated economic situation, and the congress industry, as with over industries, has been seriously affected." Given the situation, Serrano added that "we should work on reinforcing the industry from bottom up so as to emerge with renewed strength from the economic crisis."
With this in mind, Serrano said that the accent will be put on strengthening the federation by means of a plan for identifying new opportunities, as well as the industry’s reality and trends, within the framework of the Plan OPC España en el Horizonte 2015.
One of the other main initiatives will focus on innovation. Serrano stated that "we want to advance in applying innovation to congress models, adapting them to new demands, while always taking into account factors such as responsibility and sustainability."
