The Marrakech-based event planning firm and incentive house Unitours Maroc has just unveiled its new souk itineraries.

Unitours Maroc now offers four themed itineraries designed to allow tourists and business travellers to discover the famous souks of Marrakech:

- Fashion and ethnic shopping including visits to private showrooms and the latest and trendiest boutiques in town.

- Traditional cosmetics, essential oil, authentic argan oil products, handmade soaps, musk scented wardrobe freshener bags, perfumed candles and a lot more.

- Bags and shoes, leatherwear and sportswear, all of excellent quality and 50% cheaper than in Europe.

- Gourmet tour including olive oil, argan oil, Moroccan pastries, herb teas, preserved sweet lemons, and Volubila, an excellent, new red wine.

Unitours Maroc also organizes cooking classes at Faim d'Epices, the first cookery school in Marrakech. Participants are picked up at their hotel between 9-9.30am and taken to the school, a 15-minute drive from downtown Marrakech, where they are welcomed with a refreshing or hot drink, depending on the season. They then start to prepare their own tagine under the watchful eye of the school's two teachers, both professional chefs. After savouring their creations on the terrace, surrounded by citrus and olive trees, followed by one of the many verities of peppermint tea or coffee, participants can then browse the fresh spices and local produce at the school's shop.

Featured venues

Two unusual venues for incentives or events are the paddock of city's Grand Prix track and the two new stadiums built for Morocco's Football World Cup candidacy.

Facing the 13th century ramparts of the medina, at Marrakech's southernmost entrance, the paddock can accommodate as many as 2,500 guests for dinner and over 4,000 for open-air receptions and stand-up buffets. The venue's two floors can be used as meeting rooms, dining rooms, exhibition areas or bars, the ground floor being air conditioned and the top floor naturally ventilated.

Only 20 minutes away from the centre of town, Marrakech's two stadiums – the largest seating 45,000 and the smaller of the two 5,000 – both include meeting and event facilities, as well as gardens that can be used for gala dinners and other large events.
