Ubeda and Baeza Join Spanish World Heritage Site Group

An extraordinary meeting of GCPHE was held today, 28 June, in the towns of Ubeda and Baeza.



The towns of Baeza and Ubeda officially joined the Spanish World Heritage Site Group today, 28 June. With these two new incorporations, the group now comprises 15 Spanish cities and towns included on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Alcala de Henares, Avila, Baeza, Caceres, Cordova, Cuenca, Ibiza, Merida, Salamanca, San Cristobal de la Laguna, Santiago de Compostela, Segovia, Tarragona, Toledo and Ubeda.



The Spanish World Heritage Site Group (GCPHE) was created in 1993 with the aim of taking joint action in defense of the historical and artistic heritage of its member cities and towns, and to maintain and foster certain lifestyles that are essential to them through joint projects and proposals, as well as the exchange of experiences, so as to tackle common challenges.
