Organized by Castellon University's University and Enterprise Foundation, the 12th edition of the University and Enterprise Tourist Congress: Tourism and Management of Protected Areas, is scheduled to be held from 20-22 May.
The aim of the congress, which will be held at the facilities of the university’s Social Council building, is to provide solutions for the feasible use of protected areas, where open spaces are no longer simply a venue for activities but a fundamental part and parcel of the tourism experience. As a result, outdoor activities in protected areas are clearly on the increase due to the trends of a modern-day society in continuous transformation. In fact, with a growth of over 10% (World Resources Institute), compared with the average global tourism growth rate of 4.3%, this type of tourism is much in demand, a trend that is expected to continue over the next few years.
The congress will include a broad programme of keynotes given by academicians from Spain and abroad, as well as leisure activities.
