The aim of the forum is to allow trade professionals to share ideas, discover synergies and look for joint solutions to the current crisis in the machinery rental industry.
Several weeks ago, CONFALQ, the confederation embracing Spain’s machinery rental associations, announced the organization of the 1st Rental Forum in Spain, scheduled to be held in Madrid from 24-25 May 2012. Juan Jose Torres Muñoz, CEO of the machinery rental firm TST Torres Servicios Tecnicos, participated in the presentation of the event which will bring together trade professionals for the first time. Torres Muñoz is also the vice-president of CONFALQ and president of ASEAMAC, one of the three associations – together with ANAPAT and FANAGRUMAC – comprising CONFALQ.
Cesar Caudevilla, president of CONFALQ, and Jose María Marsal, treasurer of CONFALQ, also attended the event on behalf of FANAGRUMAC and ANAPAT, respectively. The forum, which will be held at the Melia Avenida America Hotel in Madrid, will also include an exhibition area and a full programme of activities.
At the presentation of the 1st Rental Forum, Torres Muñoz announced that the aim "is to allow trade professionals to share ideas, discover synergies and look for joint solutions to the current crisis in the machinery rental industry."
CONFALQ was established in 2010 with the aim of promoting the activity of machinery rental companies. Its founding members are the National Association of Aerial Work Platform Rental Firms (ANAPAT), the Spanish Association of Automated Building Machinery Rental Firms (ASEAMAC), and the National Confederation of Associations of Crane Installation and Building Machinery Rental Firms (FANAGRUMAC).
To date, CONFALQ has 141 associates (48 belonging to ANAPAT, 47 to ASEAMAC and 46 to FANAGRUMAC).
In the words of Torres Muñoz: "The Rental Forum is all set to become the most important meeting point in Spain for rental firms, with groundbreaking keynotes, roundtable discussions, workshops and activities, as well as an exhibition area; all of which will help us pool resources in such a difficult moment." In addition, he stated that "the idea is to consolidate the forum as yearly event, similar to the Rental Show organized by ARA (American Rental Association) or the yearly event organized by ERA (European Rental Association)."
