Toledo to host “Chinese Dream” for Spanish specialists in Chinese Tourism

For the fourth year running and after the success of the previous congress in Madrid, Spain will again be hosting the IV Chinese Friendly Cities World Conference, the most important event revolving around Chinese tourism in the country, scheduled to be held in Toledo on 8 June. The city has been chosen after being declared a Chinese Friendly city several years ago, 2016 Spanish Gastronomic Capital, and World Heritage Site, thanks to the unconditional support of the Castile-La Mancha regional government and Toledo City Council.

This event features keynotes delivered by Chinese experts from the country’s most important tourism institutions, such as the World Tourism Cities Federation, China Outbound Tourism Qualitiy Service Certification and Dragon Trail, the Asiatic giant’s top digital communication firm specializing in tourism. It is a must for all those people how would like to gain insights into how the national and international tourism industry perceives outbound Chinese tourists and how to attract them. At the conference, new models for understanding the emerging phenomenon of Chinese tourism will be presented with the aim of enhancing and improving the competitiveness of Spanish tourist destinations and placing them on the Chinese tourist map. Football, shopping, fashion, art, and food and wine tourism, together with the Mediterranean as a cruise destination or the Silk Way as attractions for Chinese travellers are just some of the streams making up the conference programme.

Top national experts in Chinese tourism invite all the participants to make the most of a unique opportunity to create synergies and establish collaboration agreements with the most important Spanish players interested in Chinese tourism. It is undoubtedly a must event so as to have the chance to meet them under the same roof.

For the coming edition of this major event, Chinese Friendly has chosen “Chinese Dream” as the slogan. This is has become the main leitmotiv of the social, economic and cultural (among others) challenges that must be met in the following years so as to experience a dream holiday, in the light of the imminent arrival of a great number of Chinese tourists. The figures are striking, insofar as since 2010 the number of Chinese tourists visiting Spain has increased by an incredible 600%, totalling 400,000.

Different streams, such as The Big Dream, Different Dreams, Dream Teams and Digital Dreams, will reveal the strategies that Spanish destinations are using to position themselves in the Chinese tourism market and to increase their international tourism quota, where digital communication is essential.
