TED 2014 will take place at the Vancouver Convention Centre from 17-21 March.

Vancouver is gearing up to welcome the globally renowned Technology, Entertainment and Design (TED) Conference, a powerhouse meeting of minds that attracts some of the world’s most influential speakers. Though the world is TED’s oyster, the organisation chose to host its 2014 and 2015 conferences in Vancouver – and below, Katherine McCartney, TED’s director of operations, explains why:

"Vancouver is truly a unique destination for conferences and meetings. The city’s spectacular beauty sets it apart – the backdrop could not be more picturesque, completed by the nature-inspired design of the LEED Platinum-certified Vancouver Convention Centre… Our attendees benefit from a ’city within a city,’ which facilitates traffic flow, eliminates the need for coaches, and reduces the impact of weather variations. These factors in turn create a hub that connects the conference with our community – and ultimately, that’s what TED is all about."
