Spain has just entered the ranking of the top 10 countries in the world as regards the quality of its infrastructure.
Climbing two places in the Global Competitiveness Index 2012-2012, Spain now occupies 10th place as regards infrastructure, according to data provided by the World Economic Forum – Davos and published by the Spanish Institute of Economic Studies (IEE). As the IEE has stressed in a recent press release, "the efficiency and development of infrastructure are essential factors for the proper functioning of an economy. Good transport infrastructure helps to unite the national market and also facilitate connections with other markets."
Infrastructure is the second basic criterion of the 12 used by the World Economic Forum to determine the productivity and competiveness of world economies.
