The Roman villa of La Olmeda, owned by Palencia's provincial authorities and officially opened by HRM Sofia on 9 November 2009, is located in the municipality of Pedrosa de la Vega (province of Palencia). In collaboration with the Castile and Leon Heritage Foundation, SONO has helped to convert the villa into a museum, as well as equipping it with interactive, audiovisual and didactical signage systems.

The project has centred on the archaeological site dating from the Late Roman Empire, which has recently been totally renovated and modernized. This 3rd-4th century Roman villa, which is beautifully preserved, contains some of best mosaics in the Peninsula.

SONO commissioned to install audiovisual equipment at new RCD Espanyol stadium

SONO’s engineering department has been commissioned to install audiovisual equipment at the Espanyol football club’s new stadium at Cornella-El Prat, a project on which the company has worked six months.

The commission has included the installation of two LED screens measuring 30m2, connected via HD-SDI to the central control, incorporating live image editing.

Likewise, SONO has designed, supplied and installed the stadium’s PR and sound systems, including 20 clusters connected by fibre optic cable for spectacular sound. With the aim of facilitating the use of mobile TV units, the company has also installed a centrally controlled 3+3 HD-SDI fibre optic system with an audio connection with 4 send/3 returns.

Lastly, SONO has installed 150 monitors throughout the stadium, which receive signals via IP and TDT, geared to Espanyol’s internal channel distribution. The company also provides technical assistance during matches and other functions held at the stadium, and mobile audiovisual equipment for coverage throughout the stadium’s facilities.
