It was historic moment for the brand with an open family day and an outdoor party at the facilities of its factory in Olot (Catalonia).
Simon, a Spanish multinational manufacturing electrical equipment and electronic security components, has just celebrated its 100th anniversary. For such an important event, the brand with a presence in a dozen countries and headquarters in Barcelona, wanted to return to its roots in this town in the province Gerona where one of its factories is located.
In Olot, the firm held a party for all of its employees in Spain, plus their families, totalling more than 1,600 people. The party’s family character was a leitmotiv throughout the celebrations, including an open day, with guided tours of the factory, and an al fresco party.
To carry out the client’s plans, Eventisimo’s creative team took due account of the time of year and the possibility of using Simon’s outdoor facilities in Olot, surrounded by the pre-Pyrenees in the Garrotxa region. In this regard, the firm designed a party along the line of a country fair, with children’s attractions, an outdoor cinema, batucada, dance, and folk music workshops, and plenty of entertainment.
The party’s centrepiece was a stage under a romantic firmament of light bulbs that, at sunset, were turned on using, as it could not have been otherwise, the best selling Simon switch ever. This marked the start of the evening party, with speeches given by the Mayor of Olot and several generations of the Simon family. After the presentation of a giant chocolate cake serving over 1,500 people, there was a firework show and a live concert.
This event was characterized by the implementation of sustainable practices; for example, all the produce used by the catering service was locally sourced.
