After 20 years of unsuccessful attempts, the Seville Convention Bureau was finally created on 11 May, with the chief aim of drumming up MICE business for the capital and the province.
Five institutions – City Council, Provincial Council, Regional Government, Chamber of Commerce and Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Seville – are participating in the initiative, captained by Manuel Macias Moreno, with offices in the Plaza del Triunfo.
With the aim of converting Seville into world-class business tourism destination, the convention bureau will work with a number of associated companies – four- and five-star hotel, Seville’s Exhibition and Convention Centre (FIBES), PCOs, travel agencies, transport and catering companies, restaurants, audiovisual suppliers, show producers, etc. – responsible for organizing the events booked by the bureau’s four-person team, led by Macias, who has occupied the post of marketing manager of the Costa del Sol Tourist Board and was the founder and first manager of the Costa del Sol Convention Bureau, among other top posts in the tourist industry.
