The ceremony was attended by the best DMCs in Spain, as well as hoteliers, service providers and national and international specialized press representatives.

On the last day of EIBTM (Barcelona), Spain DMCs, a professional association representing the country’s top destination management companies, presented its Award of Excellence, which "acknowledges the professional excellence of a personality whose has stood out for his or her support for the work of DMCs, to Manuel Macias, director of the Sevilla Congress and Convention Bureau.

The best supplier award was given to Antonio Cintas, managing director of the Barcelo Sants Hotel in Barcelona, and the "Melon" Award (a kind of booby prize) went to Willy Walsh, CEO of IAG Group (British Airways-Iberia), for the damage he has wrought on Iberia since the airline’s merger with British Airways.

With this award, Seville, as a destination, and its convention bureau SCCB, have managed to attain greater visibility and generate more demand in the meeting and event market, as well as highlighting the efforts its members and collaborators are currently putting into promoting Seville and its province as a leading destination for meetings and events.
