Seville Conference and Exhibition Centre (FIBES) has recently become a member of Meeting Professionals International (MPI), the largest professional meetings and event association in the world. MPI currently has 23,000 members distributed in 68 chapters, of which 11 are located in Europe including Spain.
MPI has been present in Spain since February 2006, which, with around 200 members at the moment, is that country that has experienced the biggest growth in membership to date in the history of the association.
As an association, MPI’s main role is to improve its members’ level of professionalism (training, certification), and to provide professionals with information and networking opportunities, as well as promoting and supporting the meetings and event industry as a whole.
Along these lines, as a frequent venue for important national and international conferences, conventions and meetings, FIBES will now be able to make the most of the many advantages that MPI offers its members, such as interaction with other members, professional development, and business opportunities, in addition to professional contacts not only with suppliers but also with clients.
These are the chief reasons why it is important for FIBES to belong to this association, above all now that the venue has recently enlarged its facilities. This enlargement, which is already being marketed, will give FIBES the edge in the meetings and event market, as well as allowing the centre to stage large musicals.
FIBES is an active member of most of the organizations and associations related to the congress, conference and exhibition industries, including the Andalusian Association of Conference and Exhibition Centres (AFCAN), the Spanish Trade Fair Association (AFE), the Spanish Association of Conference Centres (APCE), the International Association of Congress Centres (AIPC), the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), and now Meeting Professionals International (MPI).
Play Sevilla at FIBES:
The 1st edition of Play Sevilla, Leisure Park, will be held at FIBES from 22 December-3 January 2010.
