With a year-on-year increase of 4.68%, the MICE industry has boosted out-of-season tourism in the city.
In 2015, Santander hosted 313 events, including congresses, meetings and seminars, with a total of 45.700 delegates, representing year-on-year increases of 4.68% and 2.54%, respectively.
Half of the events hosted by the city lasted on average three days, 37% one or two days, and 13% more than four days. Seventy-five percent of the events were national, 13% international and 12% regional.
Over 40 events have already been confirmed for 2016, including the 42nd Annual Meeting of the Spanish Nuclear Society in September.
