Melia Hotels International has recently been appointed to the post of manager of the Gran Melia Don Pepe (Marbella, Malaga), where she will start to work after managing other properties belonging to the chain, such as the Gran Melia Colón (Seville) and the Gran Melia Rome Villa Agrippina.
Galan has an MA in Tourism from Malaga University, in addition to a number of masters from Cornell University (New York). She started her career at Melia Hotels International in 2004, specifically in Tenerife. After working at the chain’s Costa del Sol sales office, she took an in-house hotel management course in Palma de Mallorca. Over the past years, she has occupied several managerial posts in Palma, Seville and Rome. In the later, she participated in the opening of the Gran Melia Rome Villa Agrippina, one of the company’s flagship properties.
In 2013, she returned to Malaga as hotel manager of the Gran Melia Don Pepe, after which she was appointed to the post of manager of the Melia Marbella Banus. After a short term at that property, she has returned to the Gran Melia Don Pepe, this time as director general.
