The Roca Tranquila, located in Fuengirola, is one of the 14 restaurants in the province participating in "Mmm…Malaga. Gastronomic Experiences '09", whose aim is to promote the high level of Malaga's culinary creativity and signature cuisine.
The province of Malaga is starting to make a name for itself the world over thanks to the enormous effort being made by its gourmet restaurants and chefs to produce top-level creative cuisine. So as to promote this gargantuan effort and magnificent results that it is currently obtaining, 14 of the province’s gourmet restaurants –Adolfo, Café de París, Limonar 40, Montana, and Palo Cortado in the city of Malaga; El Lago, La Hacienda, Messina, Roberto, and Taberna del Alabardero in Marbella; Restaurante Med in Torremolinos; Girol and Roca Tranquila in Fuengirola; and Tragabuches in Ronda– have just launched a unique private initiative: "Mmm…Malaga. Gastronomic Experiences '09", an exclusive and reasonably priced tour of the province’s best restaurants, with the aim of making signature cuisine more accessible to the general public.
The restaurants participating in this initiative are offering a tasting menu for €45, including VAT, a highly competitive price taking into account the amount of work that goes into its preparation and the top quality ingredients used. The tasting menu includes three tapas (small helpings) – a fish dish, a meat dish and a dessert – highlighting the creativity and savoir faire of the 14 gourmet restaurants taking part. Clients only have to order the tasting menu when booking a table or in situ. The price of the menu does not include drinks.
The aim of this initiative is to show the rest of Spain and the world the great advances made in signature cuisine in Malaga in little over a decade. This effort has received international recognition in the form of five Michelin stars distributed between restaurants in the city of Malaga, Marbella and Ronda.
