Rafaelhoteles to Manage Hotel with Largest Meeting and Event Capacity in Spain

Rafaelhoteles has recently taken over the management of the Salamanca Forum Resort, a hotel complex located in the city of Salamanca which will now be marketed under the name of Rafaelhoteles Salamanca Forum Resort.



The new Rafaelhoteles Salamanca Forum Resort is one of the most important MICE hotel complexes in Spain, and the largest congress hotel in the country as regards its capacity (11,800 delegates), and the second largest with respect to its size (7,500m2). Facilities include a four-star hotel with 218 guest rooms – with 16 junior suites and 6 suites – 18 open-plan meeting rooms, a congress centre accommodating 1,500 delegates, an auditorium seating 415 people, and a 500m2 marquee in the garden with a capacity of 400 guests. In total, there are more than 7,500m2 of meetings and event facilities, of which 3,240m2 belong to the EXPO Salamanca, a tradeshow centre next to the hotel with a capacity for hosting events with up to 8,000 attendees.



Another of the main attractions is Villa Mayor, a golf course designed by Juan Caterineu and regarded as one the most important in the country as to golf licences. Villa Mayor has two courses; an 18-hole, par 72, and a 9-hole, par 27 (pitch and putt). In addition, it is ranked among the 10 golf courses in Spain with the highest slope rating. The club, which organizes a number of corporate championships, also has a golf academy.



Rafaelhoteles Salamanca Forum Resort, managed by Alberto Blanca, organizes additional activities geared to corporate incentives, such as paintball, horse riding, adventure activities, theme tours of Salamanca, and guided tours of wineries and ham drying rooms.



The new Rafaelhoteles Salamanca Forum Resort is located a stone’s throw from Salamanca’s Plaza Mayor, and is the first hotel that Rafaelhoteles has added to its chain as a managed property, since announcing its expansion plans at the last edition of FITUR Madrid.
