RACC Catalunya-Costa Daurada Rally places trust in PortAventura B&E for 13th year running

The PortAventura Convention Centre, the event’s nerve centre, was the scene of high emotions and much adrenaline during the RACC Catalunya-Costa Daurada Rally.

The weekend before last, from 6-8 October, the PortAventura Convention Centre served for the 13th year running as the nerve centre of the 53rd edition of the RACC Catalunya-Costa Daurada Rally, the penultimate fixture of the World Championship.

To this end, a number of the convention centre’s function rooms were prepared. On the first floor, the multiuse Sala Cartago was used as a press centre for 403 reporters and information professionals, 83 of whom were Spanish and the rest from abroad, and the versatile Sala Harvard for press conferences. Lastly, the all-purpose Sala Damascus housed the race managers’ central offices.

Furthermore, the organizers and a number of the pilots and the global team stayed at the Caribe Hotel at PortAventura World, located a short walk from the PortAventura Convention Centre. The Service Park for all the teams participating in the rally was installed in PortAventura Park’s parking lots, next to Ferrari Land.

Laura Valdeolivas, director of PortAventura Business & Events, explains that “it has been a pleasure for us to host yet again such a popular event with so many fans. We would like to thank all the participants for their sportsmanship and the organizers for the confidence that they have placed in us by choosing us for this new edition.”

The Irishman Kris Meeke (Citroën C3 WRC) came in first place, followed by his teammate Meeke and the Estonian Ott Tänak.
