The annual ceremony of the Middle East Event Awards, which took place in Dubai last week, recognised the region’s top event and exhibition companies.
The Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) took home the much-coveted Best Event Venue Award from the Middle East Event Awards 2013. Winners were selected based on votes from a panel of meeting and event industry experts.
The centre, which is a member of Qatar Foundation, has attracted a number of high profile events in the 18 months since opening.
This award has followed on the heels of the announcement made by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) a week ago that Doha has strengthened its ranking among the world’s most popular association meeting destinations. The city moved up 49 positions to share the 111th place with Florence, Riga and San Juan, in a list of over 360 cities.
