Q4 Congress Activity at FYCMA to Generate EUR 4.5 Million for City

The Tradeshow and Congress Centre of Malaga (FYCMA) will be hosting five congresses during the last quarter of 2010, with the participation of medical experts, international opinion leaders, and Andalusian executives.



During the last quarter of the year, FYCMA will be hosting five large congresses that will generate revenues in the region of EUR 4.5 million for the city, according to the criteria used by Spain Convention Bureau, representing a daily spend of 445.5€ per delegate.



The Wonca Europe Conference 2010, an annual European event organized by the World Organization of General Practitioners, was held from 8-9 October, with the attendance of around 4,000 doctors from all over the world. Held last year in Basel (Switzerland), this is the first time that Malaga has hosted the event.



This was followed by the 18th National Congress of Hospital Engineering, which, although not related to any specific medical field, has to do with hospital attention and improving health services. Held from 13-15 October, the event was attended by approximately 1,500 trade professionals specializing in structures, equipment and technology for hospitals and health centres.



Following this event, FYCMA will be hosting The Creative Being: 1st Congress of Brilliant Minds from 21-23 October. The event is geared to scientists, philosophers, intellectuals and thinkers in general who will only have 21 minutes to present the most innovative and "brilliant" ideas for improving the world before their audience. In the region of 2,500 delegates are expected to attend the event.



The November agenda includes the 13th Congress of the European Society for Sexual Medicine, which will bring to together around 2,000 experts in sexual health from 14-17 of the month to share experiences, research and information on all those fields related to the treatment of male and female sexual functions and dysfunctions.



Lastly, Andalucía Management will be held on 18 November. The aim of this event is to become the largest of its kind in the region and an exclusive communication platform for executives. This first edition will be attended by renowned opinion leaders who will address experiences, strategies, success tactics and future perspectives.
