Since opening a year ago, PortAventura Business & Events has managed to position itself among the leading national and international MICE venues, with the hosting of over 300 events, totalling over 70,000 attendees.
The reason why PortAventura Business & Events has received this overwhelming response from the MICE industry has to do with its unique characteristics: a large, fully equipped convention centre, four hotels with a total of 2,000 rooms, quality restaurant and catering services, golf and team building activities, and shows. All in a charming Mediterranean setting, with excellent motorway, high-spread rail and air connections.
In addition, the centre has another unique attraction in the guise of its very own theme park: PortAventura Park, whose venues can be fully adapted to the event requirements of each company.
Firm commitment to CSR
Since opening in 1995, PortAventura has implemented a consistent CSR strategy in the areas of human resources, environment and social programmes.
In 2010, the creation of the PortAventura Foundation, with a special accent on children and teenagers at risk of social exclusion, was an important milestone in the company's CSR strategy.
Eco-sustainable convention centre
The convention centre has been fully integrated into the Mediterranean surroundings, its design being based on sustainable and green criteria. From the planning to the building stage, PortAventura put the accent on an optimal use of natural resources and minimizing its impact. For instance, the majority of the centre's function rooms have natural light. Likewise, the areas's climate and the use of renewable materials have been taken into account, as well as water and energy saving, recycling and reuse strategies. The building is also fully accesible to people with mobility problems, and all its function rooms can be accessed from the exterior, thus affording attendees unbeatable views.
