Recently appointed to the post of director of the business and event division and PortAventura Convention Centre, Laura Valdeolivas will be in charge of leading this expansion.
PortAventura has recently decided to strengthen its business and event division, a line of business that has experienced continuous growth over the last few years, in spite of the economic crisis. During this period, PortAventura Business & Events has consolidated its position as a benchmark for the organization of major events for clients such as Nike, L’Oreal, Sharp, and Dow. PortAventura’s main aim is to continue to acquire customers in markets like France, the United Kingdom and Germany and to generate business leads in others including USA, Russia, Scandinavia, Holland and Benelux.
Laura Valdeolivas – previously events division sales manager – has been chosen by PortAventura to implement this new strategy as director of PortAventura Business & Events. PortAventura has decided to build on the existing Business & Events team with the incorporation of new members both in the sales department and in the event production area.
Due to its versatility, PortAventura Business & Events has organized to date all types of events. This year, the venue has organized and hosted 75 international and national corporate events whose 50,000 participants have had the chance to experience firsthand PortAventura Convention Centre’s services, as well as those of the resort’s hotels and theme parks. Visitors from Spain, France, Germany, Italy, England, USA and Holland have participated in congresses and conventions, incentive programmes, corporate meetings, and sports events. Its exceptional versatility has led PortAventura Business & Events to host the PortAventura Foundation’s social responsibility events with AFANOC, Down and the Charity Run, in addition to corporate events for Volkswagen-Audi Spain, Cobega, Torres, TUI France, Peugeot Spain, Zurich Spain, Ferrari, and Unilever. This autumn, PortAventura Convention Centre will host a number of major events such as the 10th edition of the Rally RAC Catalunya-Costa Daurada (a fixture of the World Rally Championship).
