Pacific World, the integrated global DMC and Event Management organisation, has been awarded “Best Incentive Programme” at the Malaysia Business Events Awards for Excellence (rAWr Awards) for a “Winning Together” themed event that they coordinated for 375 delegates. This is the second time that the rAWr Awards has shown Pacific World recognition, having awarded them “Best Incentive Programme” in 2013.
Recognising Award Winning Results (rAWr Awards) rewards outstanding achievements in the Meeting, Incentive, Convention and Exhibition (MICE) industry in Malaysia. The awards are a joint initiative between the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) and the Malaysian Association of Convention & Exhibition Organisers (MACEOS). Founded in 2013, this bi-annual award presentation is judged by a panel of independent industry experts within Asia.
Selina Chavry, global managing director of Pacific World comments, “For this year’s winning event, the Pacific World Malaysia team once again demonstrated their capabilities by designing both a memorable experience as well as delivering the message ‘Winning Together’ at a sales forum which brought 375 sales and marketing personnel together in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.”
Catherine Chong, country manager, Pacific World Malaysia, commented, “For this event we created the ‘Winning Together Photo Hunt Challenge’ which was an outdoor teambuilding event that invited teams from various countries to strategise, communicate and motivate each other towards a shared common company goal, while exploring the city in a fun and interactive way. Attendees were introduced to the culture and heritage of Malaysia which was complimented by the experience of the festive Chinese New Year.”
The “Winning Together Photo Hunt Challenge” also instilled the value of giving back through a CSR activity, which is a key difference from previous teambuilding events. Donations went to a volunteer relief organisation.
In addition to being awarded “Best Incentive Programme”, Pacific World also won the “Youth Scholarship Award” which is open to employees or nominees within the business events industry that are 25 years old or younger. Samantha Lau of Pacific World Malaysia is the first winner of the Youth Scholarship Award that recognises deserving young talents in the industry.
