The overnight stays and economic impact generated by the MICE industry in Santander was up 28.68% in 2017, according to the City Council.
Specifically, the local MICE industry generated 151,293 overnight stays at the city’s hotels (33,720 more than in 2016), while the economic impact – with an estimated daily spending of 241€ per delegate – totalled 36.4€ million (versus 28.3€ million the year before).
The prospects for continued growth in 2018 are good, with the confirmation of 35 congresses to date.
