DoubleDutch and The Meetings Show’s long term partnership has led to significant upgrades to The Meetings Show’s app, providing up to the minute diary access for hosted buyers and a wide variety of other information at the touch of a fingertip.
"Once again we are demonstrating our commitment to the attendee experience. The improvements to our app will enhance the time hosted buyers, visitors and exhibitors spend at The Meetings Show due to changes based on feedback during and after the inaugural show,” comments The Meetings Show’s event director, Steve Knight. "DoubleDutch, the developer behind our app, has used their extensive knowledge and technology to increase functionality and streamline communication, making the app integral to the show experience. The result is a high powered networking tool capable of effectively managing an individual’s on-site time and communication."
The most significant change for 2014 is the app’s ability to provide details of hosted buyer appointments straight to their smart phones as well as allowing them to navigate the show more effectively, plan ahead for each meeting and therefore make the most efficient use of their time.
The design of the app is user friendly and is easy to navigate – even for the most technophobic of attendees. In addition to diary access, its core functionality includes: a social news feed detailing attendee likes, check-ins and status updates; personal profiles; the ability to follow other individuals; gamification style king of the app leaderboards to encourage usage; exhibitor details, floor plans and general show information.
"The Meetings Show has integrated their DoubleDutch-powered event app into the DNA of their event, which sets them up for great success on the platform," says Jennifer Hawkins, director of marketing at DoubleDutch. "They use the app as a comprehensive marketing and communication channel for all event stakeholders, and to optimise event performance, which is a winning approach to technology."
The app will be available for mobile devices on Android, iOS and mobile web platforms. It requires users to create a profile and login, so only those who have The Meetings Show app can view information provided by other opt-in users.
Knight concludes: "We chose DoubleDutch because they are a world leading provider of trade show and event apps, we knew they would not just provide a fantastic tool but also something that would be engaging, fun to use and add real value to the visitor and buyer experience – factors which are all vital in an industry where apps are rife and attendees constantly look for something different."
