With 105 associated PCOs and 201 collaborating companies, OPC España is currently the most representative congress industry organization in Spain.
Over the last few weeks, the Spanish Federation of Professional Congress Organizers (OPC España) has conducted an intensive mailing campaign geared to Spanish convention bureaux and congress centres with the aim of strengthening public-private alliances. In a letter sent to them, Vicente Serrano, president of OPC España, stressed his complete readiness to collaborate with these institutions so as to position the national MICE industry as an example to follow.
"To this end," explained Serrano, "collaboration between the public and private sectors is essential. Only if we join forces and establish joint goals, will we be able to improve the country’s position in the international rankings."
In the aforementioned letter, Serrano invited both convention bureaux and congress centres to join the federation: "By boosting strategic alliances, we will be able to reach common goals. I’m convinced that, together, we will be able to help the economy rebound at such a necessary time," said Serrano.
The letter is part of the strategy developed by Serrano, since being appointed to the post of president at the 25th National Congress of OPC España (held in February 2012), to promote collaboration between the public and private sectors. With 105 associated PCOs and 201 collaborating companies, OPC España is currently the most representative congress industry organization in Spain.
