TripAdvisor, the most important travel opinion website in the world, has awarded 130 hotels operated by Melia Hotels International (MHI) its Certificate of Excellence, reaffirming the MHI commitment to service excellence and quality which continues to enhance its reputation amongst guests.
To commemorate the fifth anniversary of TripAdvisor, the website has introduced a new Hall of Fame for those hotels that have earned the Certificate of Excellence for five consecutive years. Of the 130 hotels, 58 have entered the select group of top hotels thanks to their hard work and constant dedication to guest satisfaction.
The distinguished hotels are found in 21 different countries on the four continents in which MHI operates. Spain has a total of 64 certified hotels, and is the country that has received the most awards, reaffirming their superior levels of quality and service.
Online reputation has become increasingly important over the past few years. More and more travellers have access to and use travel websites and choose their destinations and hotels based on the opinions of other guests, providing a great opportunity for hotel companies to get feedback from their guests to help make improvements and personalize services. For this reason, Melia Hotels International has used ReviewPRO since 2010 to proactively manage its online reputation, drive improvements and maintain its leadership in the travel industry. As a result of its strong focus on managing guest relationships and expectations, the MHI Spanish hotels are the most frequently mentioned and have the best Internet ratings according to a study in 2014 by the online monitoring company Social Vane.
