The fam trip was aimed at showcasing both Seville as a congress destination and FIBES new extended facilities before an audience comprising congress and convention organizers and decision-makers.
Seville Congress and Exhibition Centre (FIBES) and Seville Congress & Convention Bureau (SCCB) have yet again organized a fam trip geared to the national association meetings market with a group of local decision-makers from different economic sectors (business, medical-scientific, etc). These actions are part of the marketing plan implemented in June 2009 to promote the congress centre’s new facilities and generate both national and international meetings and event business.
The fam trip was aimed at showcasing Seville as a robust destination with state-of-the-art facilities, namely FIBES and its new extension, before the group of decision-makers, who will be taking the centre into consideration when choosing a venue to hold future national congresses and meetings.
The group was treated to a programme designed to offer them in-depth knowledge of the destination, including hotels, haciendas (country estates), palaces, theatres and restaurants – as well as the city’s most emblematic monuments such as the Royal Palace, the Cathedral, Santa Cruz Quarter and Metropol – all of which provide the necessary services for ensuring the successful organization of any kind of event in Seville.
The trip’s programme featured a tour of FIBES’ new facilities, including function rooms, exhibition halls and restaurants. The group also visited the new extension so as to get to know first-hand one of its main elements, a large auditorium with a capacity for 3,557 people in its maximum setup. Furthermore, the new building will include a large number of all-purpose breakout rooms and spacious and well-lit areas, highlighting the project’s originality (ramp and indoor and outdoor exhibition areas), all of which will make of it one of the best venues in the country for hosting all kind of multitudinous events.

The group of decision-makers much admired the new congress centre and its versatility for staging congresses and conventions related to their sectors. Nevertheless, they also stressed the quality and flexibility of the existing facilities for organizing future meetings and conferences.
It is also important to mention the valuable contribution of a large number of companies belonging to the SCCB, including the Hesperia Sevilla Hotel, Autocares Casal, Sayca Catering, Hacienda San Miguel de Montelirio, and the Gran Hotel Melia Colon, as well as Iberia and Vueling, who handled the group’s travel arrangements.
