The Spanish multinational trade show service provider MSB Events was commissioned to design and assemble 21,000m2 of temporary structures for Exporta 2008, a business internationalisation congress held at Pavilion 9 of the Juan Carlos I Trade Show Centre (Ifema) in Madrid from 3-4 June.
Exporta is one of the most important and relevant international events in the sector. Organised by the Spanish Institute for Foreign Commerce (ICEX) and PromoMadrid, its objective is to encourage Spanish companies to discuss and reflect upon the internationalisation process and boost their presence abroad. MSB Events, together with Loc Arquitectos, came up with a modern, innovative design for the event’s different venues, with constructive, cutting-edge solutions geared to creating the right ambience.
The layout MSB Events designed for Exporta 2008 featured the 4,500m2 International Meeting Point and the exhibition area divided into countries by spectacular coloured polycarbonate panels. Along these lines, the elegance of the designs has been a key factor in this year’s edition of the congress, along with the many decorative elements lending it a unique character.
With regard to the organisers, MSB Events built an independent area for ICEX, as well as an 800m2 stand for PromoMadrid.
In addition to the staff employed in company’s workshops to build the different structures, MSB Events engaged the services of 200 professionals, including electricians, painters and installers, to assemble the event’s different venues.
With the slogan “The New Challenges for Global Companies: Human Capital, Talent and Innovation” as the key factor for increasing the competitiveness of Spanish companies operating abroad, this 9th edition of Exporta attracted more than 4,000 professionals. During the two-day congress, there were more than 35 seminars and workshops geared to exporting SMEs. One of the new features of this year’s edition was the creation of an interactive area where companies and business associations could meet to discuss the strategic aspects of international markets and future projects.
