From 19-21 September 2008, Malaga’s Tradeshow and Congress Centre will be hosting the 2nd edition of "Sin Barreras", the Accessibility, Mobility, Dependence, Disability and Quality of Life Tradeshow. Besides the exhibition area showcasing products and services geared to improving the quality of life of the aged, the handicapped and the dependent, there will be a parallel programme of conferences and roundtables addressing the need to boost accessible tourism, among other matters.
More than 150 public institutions and private companies will be present at "Sin Barreras", due to be held from 19-21 September. The chief aim of this event, revolving around accessibility, mobility, dependence, disability and quality of life, is to showcase the latest in technology designed to facilitate the life of the handicapped or the dependent.
A broad range of sectors will be represented at the event – whose first edition registered 40 exhibiting companies and 9,000 visitors – including health and welfare, communications and new technology, education, training and employment, tourism, leisure and culture, and transport.
In addition, there will be computer science workshops, wheelchair basketball and football tournaments, and ballet and plays performed by the handicapped. The idea is put the accent on the importance of sports and leisure/cultural activities as way of promoting the social integration of the handicapped.
