The demand for VIP Fast Pass services, together with the number of people using the VIP lounges, VIP car park and air rooms, doubled during the show.
Gestió i Serveis Trade Center S.A. (GIS), the company managing the VIP lounges and business centre, noted a considerable rise in demand for VIP and business services at Barcelona Airport during the Mobile World Congress.
The air rooms, located at the business centre in Terminal T1, were fully occupied during the whole week. These rooms serve a double purpose for business travellers: sleeping and day use (on an hourly basis).
With nearly 100 bookings, demand for the VIP Fast Pass (the classic Meet & Assist), another of the new services available at the airport, also increased notably. The VIP Fast Pass provides travellers with a personalized service: accompaniment, check-in management, security and passport control, and private lounge, as well as reception and departure at the boarding gate.
The number of travellers using the VIP lounges also doubled, with in the region of 2,500 per day. Due to this increase in demand, triple the number of staff was required to attend clients.
Lastly, there was a 30% increase in demand for the VIP car park services during the Mobile World Congress, and bookings were also made for the business centre’s meeting rooms.
