In a statement made to CONEXO, Daniel Miranda, director of the Vigo Congress Centre, predicts a large demand for the city of Vigo's new MICE facilities. In addition, Congrevigo, the company managing the centre, has recently joined the city's convention bureau, which has just presented its strategic plan for 2011.
Daniel Miranda has been chosen to manage the new Vigo Congress Centre, once building work is completed sometime this month.
Miranda expects the official opening to take place this coming March, since the facilities and equipment will have to be tested after the completion date sometime in January.
The first important event to be hosted by the congress centre will be 15th edition of MITM Euromed, scheduled to be held from 27-29 April 2011. The event is important not so much for the number of attendees expected, but because of their preeminence in the meetings and event industry, including PCOs, decision-makers, incentive planners and other trade professionals from Europe, USA, Mexico and Brazil, who will be able discover firsthand Vigo's MICE and tourist facities, featuring the new congress centre.
This is second time that MITM will be held in Vigo, whose trade fair facilities hosted the 1998 edition of the event.
