Due to increased demand The Meetings Show has expanded its sales team with the appointment of a new member, Will Platt. The move comes as The Meetings Show looks to capitalize on the significant interest from new and returning exhibitors ahead of the 2014 show, which will be held at Olympia, London, from 8-10 July.

Will Platt took up his role at the beginning of December and will assist the sales team, led by Katy Phelps and Adam Garside, in bringing on new exhibitors to the show. Before joining The Meetings Show, Platt studied Law at the University of Northampton and was previously a sales executive on the Engineer magazine.

Platt comments: "It’s an exciting time to be joining The Meetings Show. The role offers plenty of opportunities to grow within a well established team and the commercial experience I have will help the show grow in new areas. I’ve already had the opportunity to learn a lot about the meetings sector from the networking events I’ve attended in my first week, which included the industry’s Mistletoe event, and I’m looking forward to making an impact on promoting the show to exhibitors."

Katy Phelps, sales director at The Meetings Show, comments: "Following The Meetings Show’s successful launch, there has been a significant increase in interest from organisations wishing to exhibit in 2014. We have taken the step to strengthen the sales team in order to deliver an even bigger and more comprehensive range of meeting industry suppliers to hosted buyers and trade visitors when the show returns to Olympia in July."

The Meetings Show is a major event for the UK inbound and outbound meetings industry, organised by Centaur Exhibitions and taking place 8-10 July 2014 at Olympia, London. Organised by meeting professionals for meeting professionals it is focused around a large exhibition, networking opportunities and professional education.
