MCI Group – global leader in association event and communications management – has selected Meeting Professionals International (MPI) as their preferred education content and training provider for the MCI Institute.
MPI’s extensive body of knowledge and trainings in meetings management provides a strong fit to meet the diverse demands of MCI’s world-wide talent development strategy. In their strategy to ensure their employees are equipped to meet the needs of a global organisation and broad client base, MCI Group launched a centre for learning excellence: MCI Institute. MCI Institute coaches personnel on how to effectively manage and service teams, clients, and suppliers by offering workshops ranging from business solutions to CSR training programmes.
MCI Institute will launch a joint initiative with MPI where the first certificate programmes in meetings management will be offered in summer 2010. A select team of MCI professionals have been chosen to become MPI accredited trainers enabling the organization to deliver MPI certificate workshops in-house.
MCI Spain
MCI Spain has just announced that the company experienced growth in 2009 in a challenging and complex environment. In addition to increasing turnover, the company has reported an 87% rise in operating income compared with last year’s results. Likewise, in 2009 MCI Spain was among the five most profitable offices of MCI Group. The Spanish office has also consolidated its position as one of Spain’s top three DMCs, managing over 120 events throughout Spain, mainly for German, English, French and Scandinavian clients.
Lastly, MCI Spain has indicated that, although business perspectives in the event industry are expected to continue to be uncertain in 2010, a larger volume of business than for the same period of 2009 has already been confirmed.
