Once upon a time in a Madrid street called "Gran Via," lined with majestic building of different architectural styles and with a splendour rivalling that of Hollywood, 13 cinemas hosted the country’s top premieres during several decades.
This argument – along with the fact that the Emperador Hotel has witnessed many of Spain’s historical, cultural and social milestones during more than 60 years since its opening – has motivated the property to surprise its guest by organizing an original event revolving around the glamorous figure of Marilyn Monroe.
On Saturday, 9 November, an actress playing the part of the American star arrived at the hotel in a fabulous Mercedes, where she was received by photographers, a bellboy and other members of staff.
To the astonishment of all those people who were in the lobby bar at the time, Marilyn interacted with guests and staff, making them smile; an agreeable experience that was crowned by a dance number with the actress encouraging everyone to join in.
Lastly, all the guests were invited to a glass of Freixenet cava with which Marilyn toasted to everyone’s happiness.
The hotel’s managerial staff accomplished their objective of offering everyone a fun afternoon and, through a spot of experience marketing, a memorable occasion. All the décor was tailored to the Hollywood icon, including a special photo call for all those guests who wanted their photo taken with Marilyn; all of which awakened the curiosity of the passerby on the emblematic Gran Via.
