Value Retail, creator and operator of Chic Outlet Shopping’s Village Collection, has just appointed Marcelo Molinari, ex-director of tourism for Spain, to the post of MICE director for the whole collection.
In his new post, Marcelo Molinari will implement Chic Outlet Shopping’s strategy for promoting group travel and events at all Value Retail’s villages in Europe. Molinari has plenty of experience in event management, above all in business development and meeting and event industry promotion, with a track record of over 15 years in both the public and private sectors. During 12 years, Molinari was in charge of the Convention Bureau of the Costa del Sol’s Provincial Tourist Office, before occupying the post of sales manager at Cititravel, one of Spain’s best known DMCs. He has also worked for Hilton International in London, as well as being an active member of SITE Spain.
Molinari has a broad knowledge of emerging markets (Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Eastern Europe), as well as consolidated markets (USA, Canada and Europe), with which he has worked during his career. Thanks to his excellent qualifications, he also possesses comprehensive communication and business management skills.
"We are delighted to have Marcelo onboard. His experience in the meeting and event industry, both in the public and private sectors, together with his knowledge of international markets, is of great importance to us for positioning our complete range of group travel and event offerings," commented Ian Stazicker, global tourism director at Chic Outlet Shopping.
Molinari’s mission will involve supporting MICE initiatives, developing business associations and distribution channels, and applying this at the Village Collection with the aim of consolidating the enormous success of Chic Outlet Shopping’s two villages in Spain.
Furthermore, so as to support Value Retail’s MICE strategy, Kirsten Boos has been appointed to the post of tourism director at Value Retail Germany, where she will be responsible for developing global MICE and entertainment strategies.
