The Mamounia will be reopening its doors on 29 September. Closed since 2006, this mythical Moroccan palace hotel in Marrakech has been completely refurbished by the renowned French interior designer Jacques Garcia.

Since its inauguration in 1922, the hotel, an elegant combination of Art Deco and Moroccan architecture, has hosted many personalities, such as Sir Winston Churchill and Alfred Hitchcock, who used the hotel as a location for his film The Man Who Knew Too Much.

Strategically located just five minutes from the famous Koutoubia mosque and Jemaa El Fnaa market place, the Mamounia has 210 bedrooms and suites as well as of three ryads, set in 20 acres of superb parkland stretching along 18th century ramparts.

Jacques Garcia has respected the hotel’s traditional style by harmoniously conciliating zellige mosaics with white plasterwork sculpted using high-tech techniques.

Facilities include three à la carte restaurants serving Moroccan, French and Italian cuisine, a new indoor swimming pool, five bars, a tearoom, a 2,500m2 spa centre, two tennis courts, and the 300-seat Grand Salon for large corporate and private events.
