Malaga's Tradeshow and Congress Centre (FYCMA) has recently obtained the Global Accessibility Certification, issued by the Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification (AENOR), making it the second totally accessible conference centre in Spain, alongside San Sebastian's Kursaal Centre (Guipuzcoa), and the first in Andalusia.

FYCMA has just been awarded the Global Accessibility Certification by AENOR. Until now, San Sebastian's Kursaal Centre was the only congress facility to have obtained this certificate, which by complying with the norm UNE 170001-2:2007 demonstrates that the centre satisfies all the requirements so that the handicapped and people with reduced mobility can use all available services and amenities.

Experts in global accessibility have been advising FYCMA’s management team over the last few months on ways of eradicating any architectural or structural barrier hindering or impeding full access to the centre’s facilities and their use. Likewise, additional elements have been installed to make the centre totally accessible.

Along these lines, FYCMA now has special parking spaces for the handicapped, accessible walkways and entranceways between the car park and the centre’s interior, wheelchair platform lifts for accessing stages, and lifts equipped with voice output and buttons with Braille characters, among other features.
