The Malaga opera company Teatro Lirico Andaluz will be performing an “Anthology Spanish of Operetta” at Malaga’s Trade Fair and Congress Centre at 8.30pm on 26 September. With this original combination of theatre, music, light and colour, in which the audience will discover the essence of Spanish operetta from it origins to the present day, the company aims to boost the popularity of light opera.
Programme
The company, formed by more than 60 singers and musicians – a special mention going to Luis Pacetti, Gema Castaño and Miguel Guardiola – under the direction of Pablo Prados, will perform pieces from the most well-know operettas, as well as several acts from three of Sorozabal’s compositions.
About the Teatro Lirico Andaluz
The company has given to date 50 performances all over Andalusia. Their success has meant that they have given repeat performances at many venues. In the case of the city of Malaga, the company is currently in its second season – yet another activity in the capital’s varied cultural agenda – in which prestigious national soloists will perform arias from operettas and operas such as “El dúo de la Africana”, “Los Gavilanes” and “The Wedding of Figaro”.
